I am a twenty-year-old creative currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Technology (BACAT) at the University of Technology, Jamaica. I graduated from Wolmer’s Trust High School for Girls in 2017, unsure of the path I wanted to follow, but always certain that I belonged in the creative industry. Despite that certainty, I was discouraged many times along the way, which led me to explore and abandon several career paths from as early as grade nine through sixth form. In 2023/24, I made the decision to take a chance on myself and fully commit to a creative career. After being accepted to both UWI and UTECH, I chose UTECH for its hands-on, industry-driven approach and its alignment with my professional goals.

My primary interest is audio engineering. I was born into a family of musicians and singers who served faithfully in the church, but I discovered my own calling not with a microphone in hand, but behind the mixer board. In 2023, I began serving as a sound engineer at my church, and from the moment I pushed my first fader, I fell in love with the intricate balance of art and technology that brings live sound to life. As an audio engineer, I manage sound during live performances, ensuring every voice and instrument is clear, balanced, and emotionally impactful. Through sound, I have learned how to lead with intention, serve with purpose, and use my skills to elevate others both on and off the stage.

I am currently enrolled in the BACAT program at the University of Technology, Jamaica. It is one of the most versatile communication degrees in the country spanning advertising, public relations, and journalism. The program is designed to produce well-rounded media professionals, and it continues to shape my ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and create with intention across platforms.

My ultimate goal is to create with intention, lead with sound, and build experiences that speak louder than words.
